Yoga in Maro

This was a summer where a lot of things going on. People just showed up on the farm and you never know who you come in contact to. These days, a yoga teacher was staying with us for a few days in Maro. Early in the morning, we gathered together and cleaned up the area and a yoga morning was held on top of a reservoir.

I’m not a great follower of yoga, but showed my interest on this day. It was a way of socializing and getting together with residents on this farm. Balancing was one of my weakness and that could be seen when I was doing it.

Finding the right setting for yoga feels like half the journey—and perhaps the most inspiring part of the practice. I’ve seen people flow through poses on sun-drenched beaches, in serene gardens, and even atop quiet hills where the wind becomes part of the breath. But this time, it was different. The session took place on a calm reservoir, with the vast ocean stretching out in the distance—a space where stillness met infinity.

After the yoga, one thing I enjoyed was eating the tropical fruits grown here and also enjoying the view of the ocean.
