Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving means a lot to me, for I’m blessed to be in Chicago. Thanks to my host Sylvia and her sister Quiao Peng. I couldn’t thank them enough. The good vibes among each other are wonderful and supportive. We do appreciate the presence of each other here. We ventured to Chinatown to have brunch. Although the way going was smooth taking us only 40 minutes, we had to wait for 30 minutes in the restaurant. It seemed it was the only restaurant open. It was packed with Chinese locals and their visitors. Although crowded, the turnovers were smooth. Then, a visit to the Christmas market located in Daley plaza on Dearborn Street. Luckily, we found a parking space at the corner. Christmas market is surrounded by tall buildings. I remember the time when I visited the Christmas market in Köln right next to the famous landmark — the Döm.

As we count our blessings of the year, I would keep on and on how thankful I am — The beautiful places I’ve been, the families and friends that I have spent time with, and good health to make things happen.

Being here in Lake Bluff surrounded by trees and parks is something that I’m thankful for. The habitats that pass by as you gaze out of the kitchen are squirrels and deer. You get to see geese, ducks, heron, and all the habitats that and I’m grateful for being here in Lake Bluff and totally different from any other place before. have a chance to work here and explore this beautiful place. It’s an opportunity to excel here and not waste time, for my days are numbered. I think are not going to live forever. The time that we got here, we have to make good use of it.

Having a mindset that everything is temporary makes me not stay in my comfort zone for too long.
